Well, that's kind of the thing about Midlands accents. They aren't really from any specific place - aren't any variety of Southern, strongly New England flavored, a laid-back Cali surfer accent... etc. That's why newscasters go to school there - not much regionalism [if any] in the accent.

Yeah, I think :D? sums it all up nicely. Hee!

It's funny, listening to mine, how much differently it sounds -- not just the voice itself, but the cadence and phrasing sounds like my best friend. It makes me wonder how much we unconsciously mimic each other when we talk?
