I hadn't thought of it before, how different Frank's and Bob's inner voices are. Frank is open and almost completely non-reflective, he just accepts everything that happens, while Bob is irritated and bitchy and snarky and very self-aware in a way that Frank just isn't.

Black fur, slender limbs, narrow muzzle and familiar hazel eyes...

I bet Frank is a very pretty wolf. It sounds like something that couldn't exist but since he manages to pull off being tiny and strong and dynamic and pretty as a human I suspect he would do the same as a wolf :-)

\o/ I'm psyched that the difference caught your eye on this run-through. It's understandable that it didn't stand out as much previously; the sections did come out at separate times. but yeah, I'm really trying to underline the differences in these too. 'Non-reflective' is a *great* and apt word for Frank. It's interesting how radical the difference is, when one's actually raised as Fianan, and when one isn't.

I am ridiculously fond of irritated, bitchy and snarky wolf!Bob. :D

I dunno, I think pretty is an acceptable word to use to describe wolves. And yeah, Frank is mystifyingly lovely regardless of form. *shrugs*

[I don't know how obvious it is in TS overall, but you do know that Fianan have a mid-shift form, right? You know, you're basic two-legged 'werewolf' shtick?]

Yes, I think I first understod about the "between" form when I read the part where Bob meets his first monster. It's a bit difficult to visualise though. I either end up with "just" a furry Bob or with wolf on its hindlegs and it's neither and both, right?

I was working a lot harder to be obvious about the mid-shift form in that section, so that makes sense.

Right.

Google is currently failing me, example-wise. I can't exactly refer to a standard movie werewolf, because that's not right at all. [They tend to make them look like furry people, ala The Wolfman, or like mutant, bipedal wolves who are often hairless. :P That's not it at all.]

Something in him, a knot of ever-present tension, loosened. While he didn't relax his guard, Bob certainly felt safer. Frank had always had his back in the past. This just upped that feeling. Something fierce surged through him. Bob howled, uncaring about who might hear, and danced into the fight. His steps had never been so light. In him, under the snarls, hummed a song. It was one word. //pack pack pack//

Just...yes. Bob's joy at Frank having his back is almost palpable. I am a dog person, to the bone, and anytime a story conveys the feeling and emotion of pack, it slays me. Bob would do anything for his pack. Period.

I'm really enjoying both the inner and outer voices of both Frank and Bob, I really think you've got the characterizations nailed. Even if you stripped this story of the names, I'd still be able to recognize both guys from their voices.

You comment inspired chair-dancing and the excessive use of victory arms. In other words: thank you.

If we're discussing the domestics, I tend to be more of a cat person. But I *adore* the wilder relatives of the dog family. The pack bond and general group dynamics are so key - I can't tell you how psyched I am that all of that reads well!

Oh, Hallelujah! What a marvelous thing to say [and what a relief. :D]. Thank you.
