The RULES [which I'm sure you know...]

STEP ONE - Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain ( Read more... )

I'm not really sending Christmas cards anymore.

However! Would you like some U2 goodies for Christmas, have a look at my bootleg list and comment with your wishes, your full name and address and we'll see what Santa might bring...

A Blonde Yule sounds like an awesome thing!! And speaking of snarky!Draco, have you read A.J. Hall's Lust Over Pendle stories? They're Draco/Neville and I love them so much! They're among the stories I've got printed out for bedtime reading.

Also, I'm giving money to the local cat sanctuary this month. It's not one of my regular charities (Doctors Without Borders and a Swedish Coop Without Borders organization) but I try to remember to do it every few month.

I know, right? Why hasn't anyone *else* thought of this? It would make a brilliant multi-fandom comm.

And oooo! I've heard about that series, but have always been a tad unsure about the pairing. But if *your* rec'cing it... *adds to must read list* Thank you!

I love hearing about the charities people support. As can be assumed from my post, I tend to stick with groups that fight hunger and ones that support the arts, especially local art. I've donated to Doctors Without Borders in the past too - good group, that. I don't think that we have anything like a cat sanctuary around here - what a cool idea! Oh, and:

It's very, very English, witty and erudite and generally a joy to read. Try the first story written, Lust Over Pendle, and if you like that read the longer sequel and then the short prequels. The series was started a few years ago so it's been quite Jossed by canon but there's a page somewhere on that site that explains all of that. Oh, and if you like strong older women, Neville's grandmother is quite a treat in the first story.

I like thinking of my regular monthly charities as "one for immediate help and one for longtime, helping people to help themselves". Since our social security net is pretty well developed there isn't much need for people-related charities here in Sweden, except in the big cities, but far too many people still think of cats as things to throw out when they're no fun anymore so cat charities still have a lot to do unfortunately :-/
