Further reasons why I love the Queen City...

Apparently, our MacDonald's - the one downtown - closed.  This happened one, maybe two weeks ago... I don't know when exactly, because no one I know goes to Mickey D's.  This is one of the biggest cities in the state, and currently our only MacDonalds is at the mall. :D ( Read more... )

Far as I know, we still have the only MacDonald -free state capital in the U.S.

I must say, you people rock. That is heroic!

Thanks. It's certainly a point of pride here.

i know - i bet it will be replaced with starbucks! that's how these things go 'round here, anyway, although your fair city seems competent to buck the trend.

*tacklehugs* when you comin' into town, sweetie - friday?

I think we've reached the Starbucks saturation point - it's a 'one Starbucks to every two indie coffeehouses' ratio, and that's what we've got currently. Which is a lot of coffeehouses, when you think about it. As much as I'm not a Starbucks fan, I'd *definitely* take one of their stores over a Mickey D's any day.

*glomps*
FRIDAY!!! And like I said before, we'll be in the Land of Cleve for a goodly chunk of the day. Would you still wanna make some gettin' together arrangements?

*bounces in anticipation*

let me know what works for you! *is happy like happy toast*

Closest McD's to Montpelier is Barre. Far enough away. Chagrin Falls proper has a Starbucks and a Ben and Jerry's, but those are the only chains.

Never mind the grease in that space. Oy! The karma!

Inside I'm squeeing to see you. If you two want to go do things and stay over one night you're welcome to, you know.

I find it wierd to think of Ben and Jerry's as a chain, though I know that's what it is.

It's possible that the art could *change* the store's Karma. You know, a bit of space reclaimation. :)

I'm squeeing on the *outside*! Eeeeeeeeee!! See? :D Thanks for the slumber party invite; we have figured that possibility into the travel plotting plans.

*hugs*

We don't have one in my town either, which I'm fine with, I don't eat fast food really, but I will say my town is infested with Dunkin Donuts and Funeral Homes.

Dunkin Donuts and Funeral Homes?

That sounds like Stephanie Plum's New Jersey. :) [Have you read that series? It's hilarious.]

And YAY for your lack of Mickey D.s too!
