Open Playground: Schrodinger's Heroes

Everyone is welcome to play with Schrodinger's Heroes. (If you're new to this project, you can start here.) This is an imaginary fandom for an apocryphal television show. A team of heroes practice quantum physics and other hijinks to protect Earth against invaders from other dimensions. The team is racially, sexually, and culturally diverse. Because the subject naturally deals with alternate realities, it lends itself well to crossovers and alternate-universe interpretations; you can use my version or make up your own.

A tie-in with the text prompt "What makes a society malleable or rigid?"
I keep thinking of the idea of Elbow-room.
People need ELBOW ROOM to be themselves, to make mistakes and then clean up their (non-serious) mistakes without other folks acting like a tragedy has occurred.
ELBOW ROOM implies "room to grow in"--> physically, mentally, and spiritually.

I also like the idea of ELBOW ROOM as in having room enough to dodge other people's elbows who are busy trying to foist their ideas and opinions off on you.
