Romance Writers Association has officially come out as homophobic and discriminatory, banning same-sex romances from their contest.  Okay, anyone who makes a contest can make up the rules for it.  But it's more than a little counterproductive for a genre  based organization to cut out part of its own content, just because it makes some people " ( Read more... )

Wow. I saw this yesterday, and every time I think about it, my face just goes. -_- One of the responses said it just right - you can write any sort of MMF/degrading/exofetish/xenophilia, but throw an LGBTIQ+ relationship, and suddenly the whole thing is invalid. -_- -_-

Hmm...I guess I could do a Require: Cookie Valentine's special for the acey fest (the MC is an ace). :D

It is a wretched situation.

On the bright side, it did inspire a donation to one of my projects (new verses in "The Morose Mascot") and I'm hopeful that folks are supporting other queer projects too.
