Torn World: General Project Update
Torn World has been open for just over 4 months now, and we've got a lot to show for such a short time: more than 50 short stories, more than 50 setting articles, 19 poems, 34 pieces of artwork, 38 fully-developed characters and dozens of 'bit characters.'
The site has received several upgrades, too - stories now have next/previous links to related stories, and links to related setting articles, and many back-end improvements have helped with the distribution of karma and the editing process for stories. Perhaps most useful to someone new to Torn World, we've got 'getting started' pages, for readers, and for people interested in joining as creative contributors.
Registration is free and gets you access to much more material. Sign up as a creative contributor if you are interested in creating material set in this world. And if you are interested in supporting our writers and artists, you can become a supporter, which gets you access to even more stories and artwork: 12 stories and 4 poems are supporters-only, at current count, and you can get subscriptions starting at $5! That's less than 50 cents a story, and you get to choose where the majority of your credits go, so you can encourage your favorite writers and artists to create work involving your favorite characters and setting details.
