My first foray into Crowdfunding

Apr 12, 2010 19:16

Hi, all...

I've just set up The Imancipation Store...

Because, well, I'm hoping to sell some prints :)

As I'm not very good at marketing, I'm hoping for some advice in that arena :D

Some things that might help:

* Add an "About" section that describes who you are and what you do. Crowdfunding audiences like a connection with the creator.

* Add an "Equipment" section that talks about your camera, its specs, anything else you use, etc. Other photographers and photo buyers are often interested in such details.

* Sort your photos into thematic galleries and name them accordingly, such as "Gallery 1: Architecture," "Gallery 2: Nature," etc. People often want to see photos of a particular type, and this makes it easy to find stuff they might decide to buy.

Thank you for that :)

I'll add the "about" and "equipment" sections asap, and I'll re-jig the galleries, soon :)

Beautiful images! I agree with Ysabetwordsmith and would also add some shipping info on the sale page. As an international person I've always had a problem trying to find shipping info on websites. If the shipping is included in UK prices but not international you can mention that, or put a comment that shipping in the UK is (), to the EU is () and all other countries to email you for rates. You might also want to say if the prints will be shipped flat or rolled, that makes a difference to some people.

From one photographer to another, good luck!
