A friend tipped me to this unusual crowdfunded project. Venice is the brain child of a soap actress who played one half of a lesbian couple on
Guiding Light. When that show got canceled she wasn't ready to stop delivering a positive message about the gay community. Here are some resources:

No, they aren't taking donations. But they are selling merchandise via a storefront to help fund the first season, which has been shot. The second season is in pre-production.
