Edie had been exploring the castle. Well, honestly, she was trying to find the kitchen again but had taken a couple wrong turns and the bottle of pills she'd woken up to weren't exactly helping her navigational skills. Although, they were helping her mood. She felt marvelous. The best she'd felt since coming here. She just wanted to do something.

She noticed a set of double doors, and there was some sort of faint murmuring coming from behind them. Edie imagined some glorious reception waiting for her, filled with smiling faces and cold champagne. She squared her shoulders, took a deep breath and pushed the door open. Her face showed the disappoint she was feeling as she stepped inside to a less than lackluster celebration. There wasn't even anyone here. Well, except for one girl. And she wasn't exactly dressed for a party.

Edie wandered further inside. "Hello, where is everyone?" she frowned exaggeratedly, tilting her head at Buffy.

Buffy's head whipped around, her hand tightening instinctively around the stake which she shoved directly behind her back, since, well, most people didn't like coming across someone brandishing a pointy weapon, and she didn't much like explaining it unnecessarily. Her eyes widened a bit at the unexpected intrusion, which, thankfully, wasn't some sort of hoarde of demonic guard dogs, or guys in creepy cloaks, but rather a somewhat petulant looking girl. Buffy couldn't help but notice that the woman was really working the mod-retro-work in her favor.

"Uh," Buffy said, eloquently. "Good question." Her mind worked as quickly as it could through the possibilities. Maybe this girl was one of the potential Slayers that she was here to collect. Maybe she lived here. Maybe she worked for this organization Angel was after. Maybe they were right, and all those promises were just a trap - and she was behind it. But, if that were the case, and she'd gone to all the trouble to lure her there, she could look a little more pleased to ( ... )

Edie shrugged, as she sauntered closer to Buffy. Her fingers trailed along the edge of the table in the center of the room, partially to keep her balance and partially because she thought it made her look cute.

"Oh," she answered, remembering she actually had to speak the things in her head. "I thought I heard a party. I thought there were people in here." She looked at Buffy, smiling broadly. She looked nice. She was pretty. Her wardrobe could use a little help, but Edie wasn't sure she had her size. Maybe she should invite her back to her room, and help her find something nice to wear. But she probably couldn't find it again.

This girl had a certain swing to her hips that told Buffy she was about as far from the Late Nights in the Graveyard crew as one could get. But she didn't send off any of the oft-attached Queen Bitch vibes that so often went with those sort of heels and earrings. There was something sort of strangely innocent in the girl's wide eyes, and Buffy almost felt bad that there wasn't a party for her. She could certainly use one right now - a little fun and relaxation, like she thought she'd might get after they'd stopped the First.

"Just me," she said aloud, realizing the girl probably heard her talking to herself, and trying to shake off any vestigial aura of craziness that might have resulted. "Do you live here then? I'm Buffy, Buffy Summers." Tucking the stake away with one smooth motion, she held her other hand out. At last, perhaps, someone with some answers.
