Sawyer wasn't to happy with this situation at all. He mostly stayed around the castle and picked up as much alcohol as he could. After a few days he decided to venture off and found himself a nice little cottage, he wanted to stay away from the others. Sawyer was a loner, he avoided relationships with others so he wouldn't end up getting hurt; that didn't work on the island too well. This was a new start for Sawyer and this time he wouldn't let himself get too close to anyone ( ... )

Edie turned to the voice and grinned, still stroking the very pushy horse's face.

"Oh, he's not my horse. I just found him," Edie said, with a tilt of her head. "I don't know who's horses these are. Whoever is supposed to live here." She paused, and then added quickly. "My horses are in California."

Which she was just assuming, it'd been years since she'd gone home. But her family was probably taking care of them for her.

"Figures," he mumbled to himself. Of course he wasn't actually going to find someone that was from this place. "Take it you got here just like the rest of us then." Sawyer sighed as he stepped closer towards the women and the horse. "Don't think anyone is suppose to live here anymore, meant for all of us, so you could say they are your horses now."

Sawyer leaned up against one of the stable walls and pulled out his pack of smokes. Sawyer pulled out a cigarette and the held the pack up to offer her one.

"Yeah, that's right. I got invited to a party. What about you?" Edie stopped petting the horse to face him. He was American, she realized after a second. The first American she'd met.

She took one of the cigarettes from the pack and popped it between her lips with a sly smile. "Oh, thank you, I haven't had a smoke all day," she lamented.

“What?” Was she serious, asking how one comes in possession of a gun? He just blinked and looked at her for a moment. Sometimes he truly did wonder about people, maybe that was why he always made the sarcastic and rude comments that he made.

Just as Sawyer was about to answer her, she seemed to get distracted by all the pretty cars, at least the lady liked nice looking things. “Surprised a lady like yourself thinks so.” Sawyer took some more steps in seeing that the garage was two stories high. “Rather big and a whole lot of nice cars. We should take one out.” Sawyer liked the idea of driving a car again, it had been forever for the man trapped on an island. Of course, there was that time Hurley found the Dharma van but Sawyer didn't drive that himself.

"Oh, I love fast cars. Fast everything!" Edie squealed, making her way toward the Jaguar convertable.

"I don't drive anymore, really. I crashed my car," she laughed a little, remembering the incident. "It was the most horrible thing you can imagine!"

Edie ran her hand along the hood of the Jaguar. "We should take this one."

When Edie said, “Fast everything,” there was only one thing that Sawyer thought about. He shook that thought from his head and followed her towards the Jaguar convertible. The car was sweet as hell that was for sure.

“How’d I figure you’d do something like that,” Sawyer commented. Edie seemed just the type to crash a car. “I bet it was,” he said in a dry tone, he really didn’t care. “Sure hope it wasn’t a beauty like this one.”

Sawyer looked over the car, it was nice, nicer then anything he’d driven before, “how could I say no. Where do we get the keys Speed Racer?”

"Oh, it was, it was a wonderful little car. It was fate though. It wasn't my fault," she sighed. "My brother killed himself. At the same time my car crashed. He crashed, too."

She walked around the car and opened the passenger's door when she found it unlocked. "I don't know, maybe they're in here..." she climbed inside, excited.
