Lainey was out for a run, and stopped into the kitchen to get some water and something light to eat after. She paused when she heard someone yelling. Instinctively, she moved toward the source, her guard up. She saw only a pretty woman sitting alone. 'Hi there, you all right?' she asked, glancing around to make sure she hadn't missed something important.
Lainey nodded. 'I've heard that can happen here. I can help you look for him--if nothing more than keeping my eyes open when I'm out for my runs and in the castle and such.'
"It's all right. I mean I wasn't entirely looking at the moment anyway. Though if you see a bloke, really skinny with brown hair. Really great hair, and a pin striped suit and a really long coat, that's him. Calls himself the Doctor. Just let him know that Donna and Amy are looking for him." Well he wouldn't know who Amy was, but he'd know Donna. That was good enough, right?
Amy laughed a bit in return. "Wouldn't we all like to? Actually there's kind of two of him wandering around. But if you see a bloke like that, ask him if he's part human.. if he is, it's the wrong one." Which wasn't bad, they were just missing the other.
She nodded, "Yeah I will. Hopefully he'll just pop up. He seems to turn up when there's trouble."
"I don't actually get how the whole half human thing got started. But yeah. That's alien for you. Actually I think he's regenerated a bunch. Different faces each time. It's weird." She shrugged and frowned. "That's normal though.. at least for me. Or us.. whatever."
Lainey blinked repeatedly again. 'Regenerated?' She wasn't disbelieving--no she believed Amy perfectly. She was simply having a hell of a time wrapping her head around all of this.
Oh right. "Um, since he's an alien.. he's got this thing where if he dies, he just changes bodies. Like completely. Never looks or sounds the same, but he has all of his memories and he's generally always the same bloke. That's why they all call themselves the Doctor." Then Amy shrugged.
'Ahh, I guess that explains it.' With everything else she'd heard, alien was probably the most believable.
'That's GOT to be a mindfuck,' she said. 'All right, so... if I see this skinny guy in a suit, I'll ask if he's half human. And that's NOT the one you want, right?'
Generally when she said alien, people just kind of nod their head, and act like they understood anything she was talking about it.
Amy grinned and nodded, "That's one way of putting it, yeah. Right, yeah you've got it in one. If he says he's got two hearts, then that's the one we're looking for. Actually even if he doesn't have a suit, but as long as he's got two hearts and calls himself the Doctor, that's him."
Lainey grinned back. 'All right, I'll remember that. I'm going to go now, need a shower after my run. But if you need me, you can call me,' she said, giving Amy her number. 'I'm around a lot too. I'm staying in the castle, in a room marked 'loft'
"Thanks very much," Amy told her with a smile. "I'll do that. Right, I'll remember. It was nice meeting you," she called after as Lainey started to head back to the castle.

'But yeah I can pass the message along. Let me know if you find him, so that I'll know that I won't need to stop him if I do,' she added.
