Buffy was heading back to her cottage when she noticed a man walking. It was someone that she hadn't seen before, but that didn't really tell her much. She was sure there were plenty of people here that she didn't meet yet.

"Hello," she called out to the man as she walked towards him.

Barty turned quickly when he heard the voice call out. He hadn't been expecting to run into anybody.

"Who are you? What do you want?" He was naturally paranoid. It was one of the many side effects caused by the years under the Imperius curse. He'd continued walking even though he wasn't watching where he was going and ended up tripping over a tree root, landing on his ass.

Buffy rushed down to his side when he tripped. "Are you okay? You need to watch where you're going. Here, let me help you." She looked over to him and stood up, offering him her hand. "I'm Buffy, just trapped here like the rest of us. Take it you're a bit new here or you're scared of something." She only guessed that with how paranoid he seemed to be when she came up to him.

Barty looked at the offered hand, then just stood up on his own. He certainly didn't need any help getting to his feet. He brushed himself off and looked at his hands to see if there were any new cuts. He hadn't had a chance to clean the blood from the previous cuts off his hands and wrists.

"I'm fine. And I am.....new, you could say." He kept his eyes on his hands, then shook his head before looking at her. He remembered what Sirius said. No want meant he was essentially helpless.

"I seem to be....a bit lost." He cleared his throat, hating to ask for help from anyone, especially what seemed to be a muggle woman.
