"Kitchen is good. We didn't find that yesterday... just flying monkeys and the time room," she said with a giggle.

She looked around his room taking it all in as he pointed stuff out. She moved towards the chair when he motioned to it. "That's not a problem!" she smiled at him as she sat down.

"I lived in the smallest bedroom in my parents' house growing up, and then in a tiny flat once I was on my own. Pretty much anything I find will be too fancy for me," she said with a smile opening up a door marked "Yellow."

"Bad wall color!" she said with a grimace.

He chuckled. "It isn't so bad, I rather liked it." He said. "Meadow was my favorite, I am sad that is full of flying monkeys." He said, sighing, looking momentarily but genuinely heartbroken over the danger those exquisite Medievalist murals were in in the presence of such potentially vile creatures.

"The flying monkeys aren't the worst bit. They belong to a Witch... a not very good Witch," she added. "If you see a green woman, watch out for her."

She opened another door, this one with the word Loft on it. "Ooo! I like this one." Having the bed up made it feel like a top bunk. She had never had a top bunk of a bunk bed before.

"I will make it a point to avoid any green women I come across." He said, not imagining there were very many. He ducked into the room she was examining after her. "Oh, this is rather nice." He said. "A bit close but I suppose it could be rather cozy." He remarked. "But not entirely a terrible view and it isn't damp or anything." He ran his hand over the stone of the wall.

"Still bigger than most of what I've lived in before!" she laughed. "But I'm glad I have the Artist's approval. You have a much better eye than I do I'm sure!"

She bounded up the stairs to the bed and flopped on it. "Oh lovely bed! So much more comfortable than the stone of the corridor!" she giggled. She came back down and looked through the other areas of the room. "I like it. Do I have to tell anyone I'm taking it?" she asked.

He laughed, smiling up at her from the floor below.

"I haven't the slightest idea. But no one's laid claim to it so I think it's yours. The castle, it seems, will make the claim clear. I certainly did not put the sign on my door." He shivered, trying not to think of the unnaturalness of it all.

She saw the shiver, and heard the words. "How long have you been here?" she asked more soberly.

"Since mid-summer." Basil said. And suddenly that seemed like a dreadfully long time. He wondered if he had been missed.

That was a long time... not as long as Jack had been here, but still, long enough that she could see it in his eyes. She walked over to him. "I'm sorry," she said, laying a hand on his shoulder, "I'm so so sorry."

After traveling with the Doctor, it was only natural she would pick up on some of his mannerisms. His sympathy apology... was one of them.

"Oh...oh you do not have to apologize." Basil said, embarrassed. "I was f-foolish enough to come here of my own volition."

"Of your own volition? What did you ticket say, if you don't mind me asking?" Martha supposed she came of her own volition as well, but it was a rather "luring" ticket.

"It said someone I knew was here." Basil said, simply, not willing to explain. "Someone I rather missed, and I was thrilled to be invited. But it was lies. I am told it was so for everyone."

She thought over what he said. "I was given a forged note from a friend regarding an investigation. So I suppose I came of my own volition too... but it seems to me we've been tricked rather than actually showing up on our own volition." It hadn't made complete sense, but it was what she sensed was the truth.

"I am glad I am n-not the only one who was foolish enough to fall for their lies." Basil said, ducking his head, sheepishly.
