Something happened, but he didn’t know what. He could sense something strange and powerful in the castle, something or someone that he somehow felt linked to.

The vampire made his way down from his room with Bella towards the entrance of the castle and that's when he felt it; some strange pull to another. He continued on, turning the corner when he heard her call out to Aunt Rosalie, Grandpa Carlisle and Aunt Alice.

"What," Edward said to himself as he shook his head. He could start to hear some of her thoughts, she was worried and confused and seemed to be looking for the other vampires, but who was she?

Edward moved towards her, looking her over carefully - he had never seen her before yet she looked so familiar. "Can I help you?"

Renesmee looked up at the voice, and before she even comprehended the words, she flew at him, hugging him tightly, relaxing slightly. "Daddy!" She said, voice rough. Still, most of her communication was nonverbal as she almost accidentally projected her relief and concern and felt her skin cool just slightly, still running far warmer than a normal human. "Are you all right? I came as soon as I got the note, but I couldn't find anyone."

She didn't even realize anything was of, which was odd considering how perceptive she usually was. "Where is everyone?"

Edward wanted to fly back when she wrapped her arms around him, but instead he stayed still, very, very still and unsure how to react. In some ways this felt right and in many ways it made no sense.

"Did you just call me daddy," Edward moved back a bit and raised a brow as he looked at the girl. There was something different about her; she wasn't a vampire and had a heart, but she was much warmer than a normal human and he could sense some of her supernatural abilities. "What are you?"

Edward just stood there with a puzzled look planted upon his face as he tried to figure this all out. He could read her mind, but couldn’t. It was like she was able to put a shield up. He could tell she was concerned and worried and looking for everyone in his family, even kept calling him dad in her mind, but it wasn’t all there.

Nessie felt shocked and rejected, and took a step back, staring at him, uncomphrehending. "Dad?" She said, almost in a whisper. She wanted to touch him, to communicate better. "It's me, it's Nessie." She didn't even realize she had started to cry before she felt the tears on her cheeks. "Renesmee, your daughter."

She couldn't believe this. What was this place? "I'm..." She struggled with the words. "I'm a hybrid. A human vampire hybrid." Her fingers moved to her locket. "Where's Mom and Aunt Rosalie, Aunt Alice, Uncle Emmett, Uncle Jasper, Grandpa and Grandma?" She looked around. "Or Jacob, he has to remember me!"
