"I admire your taste,' said the Southern drawl from over her right shoulder. He looked up at the painting. McCoy had always liked realism. Jagged blocks of colour and paint splotches never seemed like art to him.
This capturing of life, of a moment, was a far more beautiful and profound thing.

The gun didn't hurt either. Not that McCoy was a fan of them. Just there was a certain appeal to the juxtaposition of the lady and the gun.

He smiled at Romana. His memories of her were a little coloured by the fact he had been hellishly distracted at the last meeting but he remembered her calmness, her level head. He appreciated that in others, provided they knew what it was appropriate to get impassioned about things are were capable of doing so.

"If you don't mind, my dear, not the one with the bird," he said with a slight edge to his voice. He gestured to the offending paining. "It was something like hell if hell had a oil slick and I would rather not go back there."

Normally someone would have jumped from being startled, but Romana had heard the man’s footsteps. She simply kept analyzing the painting for a while when she heard the familiar voice come into ear contact. The last time she’d seen the southern Doctor there had been demonic possession and insanity. It was interesting to see how different people seemed to be when something completely insane wasn’t going about.

"Yes, I tend to have good taste," This was true she felt. In all of her years never once had she ever had a horrible sense of style. But with art, it seemed a bit surprising.

With a quick pivot in her black adventure shoes Romana arched a brow, “That horrible?” The Rani had stated something on the lines before but Romana had been a bit skeptical at the moment.“If you don't mind me asking," She paused, "What exactly makes it so unbearably hellish?” Her posh accent sounded it’s strongest here because she’d seen hell before and she had a feeling nothing could contradict that.

McCoy shuddered at the memory but he owed her an explanation. "Well, there was no colour to start. Everything was ash and filth and blood. The very earth was permeated in blood. There had been some kind of war or disaster but there were survivors." McCoy shuddered again. "That was the worst part.

Guess there's not nice way to say it, they were cannibals. They tried to eat me and my companion after I offered them medical aid. There look human but they are about as far from human as you can get. The place is ugly, violent and it smells bad. I don't know if the other time zones are better but they certainly seemed to get less hate over the boards. One of them is said to be idyllic. I would like that one, even if it's useless." His brow wrinkled. "But I will abide by your decision. Nice as it sounds I'd bet my bones that the foul swamp has all the answers while the pleasure house is just somewhere nice to go on the weekends." He sighed heavily and stood apart from all the paintings, to allow her to chose uninfluenced.

Romana did not like the sound of that place one bit. The very thought of this specific era made her feel a bit light headed. So, that place was some sort of definition of hell. Her head gave way to a slight nod “I agree with you.” Really, she agreed with him, “That does not sound like place anyone would want to imagine…let alone view.”

Her arms crossed as she listened quizzically, “ I’ve seen my share of ugly and violent and don’t feel the need to do so anytime soon.” The time lady grew silent as her blue hues glanced from one photo to the other, “How about this one,” She pointed to the painting with the trees and mountains.
