Hey, now. University isn't completely theoretical! Don't knock it that bad!
The problem with university is that it costs a fucking fortune to get basically the same papers as a college gives you. If college offered the course and degree I needed, I would so be in there.
Glad you're all settled and enjoying life, though. :)
He does make a point with what he was saying about the employers looking for college kids. When my dad talked to the people in the RCMP about me they said "put him in college first, so he knows his stuff...and then LATER we put him back through a university course to further his knowledge"
Both are completely different but what employers are looking for depends on what career you want. In Whitneys case, she has to go to university if she wants to take the course she wants, whereas I just need college, and perhaps a 3rd year university course that I do at the college I want to go to :)
In short, today I had a snapple. It sucked. Snapple is the bane of my existence.
Don't get me wrong, university totally has it's place, but like I said, it doesn't always give you the training you need. I'd mentioned the one teacher with a university degree: he came in on a bit of a high horse, because of his degree. He was quickly humbled by seeing how the students were being trained on equipment he'd only read about. He has the best of both worlds, I'd say.
but yes, regardless, it's all in what you want, too. University can take you places that SAIT couldn't touch. Last I heard, you were still about psychology. Still going with that, cause that would be right up your alley.
