Save The Internet! Stop SOPA!

I want to share this call because I deem this is serious. We have similar attempts at installing Internet censure by means of "Copyright protection" (or rather "Schutz vor Urheberrechtsverletzungen") down here in Europe, but since most servers of the free Internet are hosted in the USA, the impact of installing this huge means of and for censure ( Read more... )

Hi, there, and hank you for signing! :) I did, too, at the German part of the site, of course (I got the call by e-mail). BTW, how does the press related laws in Hungary are impacting the free press there? I was never sure how much you are or may be affected!

Well, considering the fact that the government is planning to fire some 400 emloyees of the öffentlich-rechtliches Fernsehen (sorry, I don't know how to say it in English) because they apparently aren't loyal enough to the government, you can guess how we stand re: free press.

Ouch! So much for freedom of press and it's protection in the European Union. I have this dark suspicion that our own government leaders are taking notes how to do it from you. :(
