Ah, now I am feeling very spoiled indeed - a new chapter so quickly! Thank you Aislynn!

And thank you for commenting so fast! Made my day! :)

Unfortunately, the next chapter, again, is not yet written, which means there is no saying when it will be done. I just hope it won't take me another year. *sigh*

And I am starting to fear your Galadriel very much indeed. I think she is going to make evil!Elrond look like a teddy-bear.

Let's just say Galadriel in this tale is a little... different. And she is Elrond's mother in law, after all...

Thank you again for reading and commenting! I am glad you still like this! :)

Even when Haldir is gentle, he's terrifying, isn't he? And, yet, he has a point: Aragorn's desire for that "special" talan in Lórien is all too well known here, I'm afraid.

Hi, ebbingnight! Thank you for reading and commenting!

And I am glad that Haldir comes over this way. He is not really thinking that he is doing evil. Of course, that is part of the problem...

Thank you again for your comment! I hope you liked! :)

More than I can say! Indeed, this story seems to have a number of people under its spell.... :)

An update -- how wonderful! I am quite thrilled with your two recent updates It seems that Lórien is just as corrupt as Rivendell, if not more so. A fascinating re-telling of Nimrodel and Amroth too -- and I am glad to know that there are more elves who are unhappy with the way things are; it gives me hope.

Speaking of hope, I am so worried for Legolas -- I think Orophin is on the right track, to believe in Legolas but I fear that he is far too reliant on Aragorn and values himself far too little. Of course it's quite understandable given their rather complex circumstances but still, it's disheartening.

Thank you so much for the update and for sharing this with us -- I will be eagerly waiting for the next chapter.

Dear Samtyr,

thank you for the kind comment! I am glad you liked this chapter, and the rather different backstory to Amroth and Nimrodel - it kind of presented itself that there had to be more of this tale in this universe. I am glad it worked for you!

Unfortunately, now I cannot promise the next chapter coming as soon again, because it is not yet written. But I do my best. :)

Thank you again for reading and commenting! :)

Dear Calenharn,

as always it is a delight to read your reviews, because you always seem to read my mind. I am not sure if, and how much Orophin has guessed about the effects of the destruction of the One Ring, but in any case, he seems to think that it will bring about some change. We'll see if he is right in this.

As for your other conclusions, I do not wish to give too much away, so all I am going to say is: we'll see... :)

Thank you again for your insightful comments, they are a delight to read! -- Aislynn

Ah ha, I thought it had to be some sort of curse on Rumil. I didn't think that it would be an entirely different thing from the Mael Gul, but it makes sense. I wonder what he's being punished for? Perhaps he was a rebel like Orophin. If so then he's changed since the curse -- he seems unable to resist taking advantage of Legolas' enslavement, so even if he has regrets that doesn't make him much better than Haldir here ( ... )

H'm, I'm going to have to go back and read that scene again more carefully. I guess it would make more sense for it to be Rumil who makes the envy comment. Whether it's him or Galadriel it makes for all sorts of psychological thrills, just in different ways.

I like the idea of the Fellowship fighting their way out - honestly I don't see much other hope for them as it is. Goodness, the Mael-gul world is a dark one! It doesn't seem as if there's any hope or goodness left anywhere, unless it's in the world of Men. Rohan at least doesn't have a Ring or a palantir to corrupt it. And the Dwarves seem to be okay too, going by Gimli. I shall put my hope in the horsemen and the Dwarves.

Dear Lamiel,

thank you for your lovely and insightful comments. But Calenharn is right - the voice Legolas heard there was not in his mind, but in his ear, and that was Rumil. Speaking just under his breath so Haldir would not hear him. Whatever Galadriel is in this tale, I rather doubt she has a masochistic streak!

Interesting spin on the story of Nimrodel in this universe. My oh my, the Lady of Light is not someone you want to mess with, is she?

As Gollum would say: No, Precious. She isn't.

Thank you again for your comments - I am so glad you liked this chapter! I am not sure how fast I can provide the next one, as that is not yet written, but I sincerely hope it will not take me another year, again. :)
