[Standing behind him, glaring. She's a little nervous, but all that does is make her want to show it even less. She grips her broom tightly in one hand and places the other on her hip.]
You'll keep that sheathed while you're in here, thank you very much.
[France turns and--lo and behold--the Rosemary girl he had met before. He bows and takes one of her hands to kiss the back of it. She had been there before, and remained there... A young English lady in what he had earlier found was a sort of residence of his. It was really England himself toward which France would direct his blade; his female citizens he would... try and extend courtesy.
And if she was in these apartments of his... well, that was another matter entirely. He would offer her so much more.
He speaks softly, just over her hand... in 1500's French.
At least, other than the kiss to the hand, he's keeping his distance. Things were different back then, okay.]
[That gentlemanly intent is basically what Rosemary is counting on to get out of this- not that she doesn't think she could take France pretty easily, she does. But beating your patients within an inch of their life isn't the best nursing (all the time).
The French is a bit too archaic for her like, but she can make it out, anyway. She briefly considers using French herself, just to make things easier for his feeble, Middle Aged mind, but decides that's to be a last resort. She'll stick to English, thank you very much.]
You didn't. [He did. She raises an eyebrow as he kisses her hand, but doesn't pull it away.] What was that little display about?
[He lifts his head, raises his eyes with a smile. That language. It's so ugly, but he can understand her well enough.] It was a herald to gain the attention of certain men, my lady.
[And also so he could show off. But, you know, details.]

[ Well, isn't this a sight. ]
[ She hasn't seen this sort of dress for - well, centuries at least, recognizing the movements of his sword and the very look in his eye. Victoire pour le royaume de France - it's familiar to her. Very familiar. ]
Ah, mon cher, it seems as though you are not out of practise one bit. [ She remarks fondly, leaning forward, chin in hand. ]

[For a few moments, everything else is overwhelmed by his current state of mind--his time. It will be another five centuries or so before he mellows out.]

Non. No idea.

... There... There was a surgeon... Oui. But--That is all I know. That, and I am continually being drawn to this dead world.

[Well... that passed too quickly. And yet, this France still looks smaller than the one she remembers. Or maybe it's just the perspective.]
