do stories posted outside Livejournal count? The max length of a livejoyrnal's post is only around 8,000 words. It is excruciatingly painful to post stories stretching over many posts and get the cross references right, as you don't know the name of the file in advance, thus have to repost the files multiple times etc. So may links to downloadable zipped html files or pdf files be acceptable?

Definitely! So long as you post a link in the community so I can make a tag for it (if there isn't one for it yet) and so other people can enjoy your work!

As it took such a long time for the comm to get revived, I've already started writing with the saim claims for the similar crossover50 challenge which features a subset of the claims here. Is it acceptable to carry the already written stories over to here?

Since there's been so much back up, I'm going to allow it in this case.

Just a quick question... is it okay if some of my stories also have appearances by other fandoms?

Like, my claim is Dean/Faith (SPN/BTVS). Say I have them in San Fransisco and in need of getting a little magic done. Could I have them visit the Halliwell witches (Charmed) to get the spell done?

I ask because I plan on several/most of the stories I write for this to be all taking place in the same little AU Universe, and I'd like to be able to make it kinda epic... but if it's not allowed, I'll just have the stories with characters from other fandoms be non-Crossovers100 fics... thanks

Absolutely. So long as Dean and Faith are both in the stories, you can crossover whatever you like. The more the better!

REAL quick question -- I'm having a 'ditzy night' and not really understanding something here.

I've chosen 3 AUs that all have converged in my imagination. The Monkees (as superheroes), the Who (as elementals) and Atlantis (With Rodney having powers). If I wrote those 3 crossing over would that count? Or should I pick other crossovers?

Sorry for the confusion.

Whatever your claim is can be crossed over with (almost) any other fandom. The problem comes with crossing The Monkees with the Who. Technically they're RL fandoms that could have conceivably met. (Unlike, say, Elvis and Britney Spears or something).

However, since The Monkees were also created for a TV show (found ala wikipedia, forgive me if I'm wrong), they can be considered a television fandom and therefore there's no problem crossing it with the Who.

Now, as far as which claim the stories are going to fulfill? Since you have 3 claims, you'll need to write 300 crossovers, but we allow for 20 previous stories to be used to fill the table, and I'll let you do it as well. So, you can write 60 fic that count for each table, and then you still have to write 240 separate fic. (So, 20 that count for all three and 80 table-exclusive fic each) I hope that makes sense?

You are not wrong, the version of the Monkees that are powered are in the TV show universe.

Okay, so I can do 20 inter-table crossovers for EACH fandom and 80 out-of-the-table crossovers for each? That is very doable and thank you so much for the clarification!

(And yes, the Monkees and the Who DID meet, both Mike Nesmith and Keith Moon are in the Beatles' video for "All You Need Is Love". I was thinking that could have been a problem, but as you said they pass on a technicality since the Monkees were a TV show before they became a real band. But I'll keep the inter-band crossovers to the barest of bare minimums!)

I'm interested in claiming the Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who, but someone already has.

Since we would obviously be doing different crossovers for the character and writing different stories, are two people allowed to claim the same character?

We allow up to three people (more in special circumstances) to a claim. So, you may definitely claim the Doctor Who: the Tenth Doctor if you want. Please put your claim on the claims post, so it's easier to keep track of claims.
