“Call Ripley’s believe it or not, I’ve just slept with a seventeenth century pirate.”
Jack’s head rose from the pillow groggily and his eyes focused on Jet’s back “Sorry love, yeh lost me.”
This was met with a dazzling grin as she turned briefly to face him “You weren’t supposed to.”
“Ah.”
He was still too sleepy to argue so instead he took the safe path of dropping back to the pillows.
“Jack” Jet breathed and suddenly her voice had changed into something a great deal darker, had changed into something that reminded Jack of storms and darkness and blood dripping at midnight.
He couldn’t move.
A fact that he was very glad for as Jet turned to face him again, because… well the look on Jet’s face was darker then her voice.
It was a look that promised no end of nasty things happening to anybody who was stupid enough to move.
“Let’s get this straight, I feel nothing for you, I will probably never feel anything for you because you are a human and you will live about as long as it takes me to blink because I am something so far away from human that it would blow your little “liberal” mind to find out, got it?”
Jack managed to draw in enough air to regain a little sense and nodded.
The darkness was there for a moment more… and then it was gone, leaving a playful smirk and glittering eyes in its wake.
And leaving Jack to try and make sense of what had just happened.

Jet may have denied any feeling for him but she certainly had some interest in him.
At least once a week he would find her at exactly the same place on the deck, these meetings always ended up in his bed.
To be honest Jack didn’t really mind.

It was the end of another meeting.
Jack was sprawled out in the bed, his eyes on Jet as she dressed.
It was practically a ritual.
Except this time the ritual was about to change.
“Jet.”
The she in question froze for a moment and then started to bustle around again as if she hadn’t heard him “Bye then! I have to say you… uh… you have the best rum here, I mean Silver says wine but I firmly believe that for an alcoholic beverage you can’t beat rum…”
“Jet, love…”
“I mean… I mean…”
“Jet darlin’, I think I may love yeh.”
Jet froze, finally halting, finally stopping ranting…
Only to just stand there and look at him.
Jack was scared again, but this time for completely different reasons.
When she spoke again it was a hollow shadow of her usual tones “I know Jack, I know.”
Then she was gone.
-----JJ-----
Jet didn’t visit again.
