...and I've been trying to compile a list of Most Overdone Crossover Cliches ever. (And maybe accompanying thoughts on how to turn them around.) So here's what I've got off the top of my head so far:

Generic:

• Everyone finds out about everyone else's Really Cool Secret.
• You think a character from Show A would be perfect with (or it would be so wrong ( Read more... )

I posted this in my LJ, but I thought I would share the rant here, just to get the ball rolling.

This was supposed to be an essay on keeping canon characters in crossovers from becoming Mary Sues, and instead it blossomed into a total essay on writing successful crossovers. (My opinion only, folks. Have your own and fire away.)
