I can't speak for other people but there is the Porn Battle going on right now, on LJ and DW, so I'm wondering if that isn't interfering with your commentficathon turnout? Leaving prompts is fun and easy, writing pron is more time-consuming and maybe less fun than reading it?

Very true. I'm as guilty of this as anyone, and oooh... Porn Battle, mmmmm. Then again, there's always some kind of fest going on in one fandom or another (and I have no problem with that, except for the backlog of fics I need to read).

This post was less "why isn't anyone filling prompts?" (We've only been open for about a day and a half) and more of a "Well, my impulse creation is turning out to have a larger and much wider audience than I expected; how the heck do I get the word out so that some of the more obscure (to me) fandoms get a fair shake?" As this is the most pan-fandom community I belong to (and most of the prompts except for the Supernatural ones are crossovers), it seemed like the best place to spread word of what the meme has turned into.

That and most comment fic memes have a really low fill rate in general... over at comment_fic, which is basically a daily ficathon, you're lucky to get like one or two fills per page of comments, and that's been dropping lately too >___
