Lovely, lovely Jackie and Ten story. I can visualise this happening, definitely, though the Doctor seems just a little cool with Jackie initially on the balcony given how friendly they were earlier in TCI, when he hugs her and over dinner. But I love him telling her that his people are gone, and it makes total sense that this is part of her reason for wanting to protect him and make him part of her family. That's so Jackie :)

And that's why I adored that line in The Runaway Bride - "She had this family..." - because it wasn't just Rose he lost, but all of them. :(

Thanks... and thanks to all who have read but there wasn't so much I could reply to. But anyway, I did have some misgivings about what you may have perceived as him being cool... but what I was trying to do was show that they have/had a certain level of discomfort with one another even when they began to care for one another.

That was so perfect. It really goes well with the way she greeted him in 'Army of Ghosts.' She slowly accepted him into the family.
