The light HURT. It sliced through her head, burning away the jumbling, sliding throughts. Bile rose and she found herself fighting the need to wretch, again. God she hated being sick.
Rose, she wanted to cry out. My name is Rose Tyler, and my head is about to explode. And it feels like there are fireants under my skin, crawling round.
But the words wouldn't come as awareness faded away.
Rose opened her eyes, and the gold motes gained strength, so that now they were ribbons that almost blotted out the brown of her eyes.
"We are the Bad Wolf. We are creating the continuity. What will be and could be burn through her mind, and it pained as would using muscles never used before. We are stonger now. Recovery will be swift. The process is nearing completion." It was Rose's voice, but not.
"They fight the us. They seek to subvert the common will. The whole is much greater than the sum of it's parts. But neither of them are weak. They slow and hinder the process, drawing it out needlessly."

Scott arrived at the newly designated medical lab just after the Doctor, Damon, and a few others. He'd heard Rose's not-quite-right voice, although he hadn't been able to make out her words. Just the voice made him shiver.
Standing just inside the room, Scott said quietly, "I'll help however I can." Right now helping meant staying out of the doctors' way.
[McKay] What do I know?lost_mckayOctober 23 2006, 01:53:32 UTC
McKay was late. He knew it, but it couldn't be helped. He'd seen the commotion, but honestly, with those responding, the safest place to be was away. Rose was one of the few who was actually nice to him, and while he was a little concerned, okay, more than a little, he wasn't a medical doctor, nor was he one with *ooga-booga* powers. It was, actually, rather surprising that he'd been asked to respond, a direct request from the Doctor.
It was because of those two factors, Rose and the Doctor, that he'd come.
Entering after Rose was on the table, monitors in place, Rodney scanned the room briefly. The doctor, sure... expected. Scott... and he swallowed hard and rolled his shoulders, and moved on, as it were. Ah... The Doctor... and the scientist began to head in that direction.
"Is it..." He'd missed the bit with the Bad Wolf, but he'd read the chart over night (He did get his shower in, but in the early hours of the morning!), over several cups of coffee. He even had a couple of ideas, though ultimately, the only way to deal with

[House] Wish I knew something...lost_mckayOctober 23 2006, 01:55:05 UTC
Of all the people that Rose could have had as a medical practitioner, Dr. Gregory House wasn't a psychic, wasn't gifted other than the fact that he was a much sought after infectious disease expert. Brilliant, even. But it couldn't help him to hear the thoughts as Rose cried out in her silence; and it was her silence that he heard.
Until, of course, she spoke. But, it wasn't her. Even he was perceptive enough to know that.
As far as House was concerned, his job was to be sure she was stabilized enough to give her a fighting chance against the machines that assailed her from within. In this case, he was over his head. He wasn't a fan of science fiction, and as far as he was concerned, all this was in the realm of Heinlein and Asimov. Give him a good mystery?
"We are the Bad Wolf. We are creating the continuity. What will be and could be burn through her mind, and it pained as would using muscles never used before. We are stonger now. Recovery will be swift. The process is nearing completion

Rose was fighting a raging infection. She was occasionally aware. She would shift from shivering with cold and feeling way too hat. She could feel someone nearby, focusing on her body, helping her not so much get better as keep out of real danger. It wasn’t the Doctor. No, he couldn’t do whatever this person was doing

[House] The hell?lost_mckayOctober 30 2006, 02:19:20 UTC
(OOC: S'okay.)
Your leg doesn't hurt...
House grabbed his cane and rose to his feet, the action awkward and painful as they all rushed in, and suddenly, a puzzled expression crossed his face. Distracting, certainly... and halfway to Rose's bedside, he took another painful step, only the pain was gone, though the weakness was still there. There wasn't the elation, however, in being 'free', but rather, this took his attention from where it should have been, that is, with his patient.
In that, he was getting angry. Something or someone was messing with him, and he didn't know what it was, or who it was, or even exactly what just happened.
Well being and health...Might as well completely rewrite the entirety of the doctor's genetic code. Life experiences aside, of course

[Scott] Attention on the patientstarborn_scribeOctober 31 2006, 15:20:50 UTC
House's incredulous, irritated reaction to his pain-free leg was not what Scott had expected. However Rose's condition took priority, so maybe the doctor would accept what his body was telling him once the crisis was over
