[That... catches him off guard. The information was very new to him, and really, it wasn't like this was something he's heard of in his world.]

I don't recall an invitation or agreeing to join a game. [Though another thought occurs to him.] What did you do to Gremio?

[ Have a stare. A good, long stare. Dismissing the second question. ]

You were asleep. How would you know?

I can't agree to something if I weren't conscious for the agreement.

Now, I ask again, what did you do to Gremio?

[ What a persistent kid you are. Glare. ]

Don't ask me. I for one didn't invite you. Maybe you should ask the Roleholder who did.

Annabeth was a bit dumbstruck to say the least. It was not a feeling the demigod was used to. Her first instinct - to knock this jerk upside the head with the mirror she'd been given - was quelled quickly due to the part of her that actually thought, maybe, what he said was true. Which would be insane.

Utterly insane, yet the dread in the pit of her stomach told her it was correct.

Thinking maybe answers were better sought elsewhere, Annabeth took her mirror and decided to seek out the woman she saw in her dream, Queen... Queen something. But it couldn't be Wonderland. No way.

And then she opened the door, and her breath caught in her throat. "Oh, Styx..."

"Styx?"

A small smile lit up the man's face, almost mocking as if amused at this girl. They were all the same; somehow finding difficulty in believing things that was already in front of them. "No, child. You're in Wonderland."

She would have replied that Styx would've been better than here, but instead, Annabeth merely set her jaw. Well, fine then. She was a demigod. She could fight. Even better, she could act as strategist, which was her strong suit anyway. Not bothering to dignify the man with a reply, Annabeth took her first steps out into Wonderland.

She had to find that Queen; Queens lived in castles, right? Logical course of action: find a castle. Couldn't be too difficult, here.

Tomoyo was torn between asking this man questions and heading out into a world she'd never been to before.

It would be her first journey despite the fact that she never did ask to be sent here, much more with a war going on. And the fact that she'd have to fight... In order to return home... Not even her powers of dimension traveling were present in this place. Perhaps she did need to stay here like Kurogane when she had sent him away but what would she learn here?

"Wait!" she called to the girl who had opened the door first. "Are you going out?"

"Yes," Clearly she was not happy with this situation. To tell her that she was taken from her home just before she could debut as a prosecutor, this must all be a horrible joke. "Do you seriously think you could foolishly fool us into thinking this is all real?"

An eyebrow was lifted at the sight of this... girl, questioning the reality of the situation. Sylvan merely leaned back in his seat, an annoyed expression crossing his face. Kids.

"If only. Then I wouldn't have to babysit all of you."

"Babysit?" She almost let herself go back there. But no, she had to keep her temper in check. He seemed like too important a man to whip. She held on to her riding crop tightly anyway.

"Mister... Sylvan, right? You really believe that this is all real? That this isn't some sort of game for you people?"

Sylvan leaned forward on his desk, propping an elbow and cupping his chin. He could use some coffee right now really, dealing with these people.

"This is all real. It can't get any more realistic than this until open war breaks out."

[ the first thing Ace does when he can consciously move again is lay the flat of his palm against the middle of his torso.

This - this isn't right. Barely ten minutes or so ago he remembers there being a gaping hole where most of his insides used to be. ]

So you said something about returning to our homes? I'm... ah, pretty sure I'm dead and all - how exactly does this whole thing work, again?

[ Dead? Did someone say dead? ]

What thing?

This game of yours.

[ he makes a vague sweeping gesture around him ]

Is this supposed to be part of the afterlife?

[ - That's the possibility which makes the most sense to him, somehow. ]

You just need to win the war, simple as that. The others aren't very complicated when it comes to their own games.

[ Head tilt, almost pensive expression. ] Not afterlife, no. There's no afterlife in this place.

Rise had learnt, throughout her few years of showbiz, that there were different types of people in the world. Some of them were slightly...kooky. They told you not to indulge them, but it really was more polite.

...having spent a good half of a year fighting Shadows in the TV World helped loosen that "Hell, no way!" attitude at least. Or at least, taught you that you had to look at them with this strained smile.

"One question," she spoke, raising her hand up high in the air. "Tell me again how we can get out of this place?"

Sylvan turned to her. "You can either go back the way you came in. That is, climbing the sky but I won't count on it. Or you can win this war."

"Okay..."

A smart-ass response. Well, couldn't say that she hadn't been expecting that, not after their curt introduction earlier. Not that her next question was going to make any more sense, anyway.

"You wouldn't happen to have a TV to go through either, would you?"

Stupid question, really- this guy was no Teddie. Couldn't stop a girl from trying, though.
