"Hi~!" Cooro waved and jumped down, almost landing on a faceless kid. Cooro gave a sheepish apology and ran over to the girl. Ah, this was Uni, right? She had a face, so he was going to assume she was.
"I saved some cakes for you!" he exclaimed, opening the bag. There were several flavors, and all of them were deli--
Oh. Wait. The bag was empty. "Oops. I think I ate all of them."

But then, that was all right. She'd been hungry too, when she first arrived. "It's okay," Uni said, laughing and extending her hand. It was so pleasant to laugh again, the warmth of it thawing the fragments of worry that still felt lodged in her throat. "I'm Uni. It's very nice to meet you in person."
And she meant it: although the idea of such a person being dragged here to fight a war made her terribly sad if she allowed herself to brood on it too long, it was still very encouraging to see how people could be so resilient. How they could try to find... some sort of happiness, even in a place like this.
"Please don't worry about the cakes," she added. "We can still get more, right?"

"Okay!" Cooro shook Uni's hand, laughing along too. "Yup! And I'm Cooro... but you know that already~ It's nice to meet you too."
Cooro nodded, a smile spreading across his face. "There's a lot of shops around here that sell cakes! There's some that're strawberry-flavored, and a couple of them are chocolate and coffee and lots of other things too! I think there might be a small cafe too, where we can eat~ Oh, oh, and after we eat, do you think we can go exploring?"
It would be obvious, at least in his head, that a place called Wonderland would have tons of neat and interesting things to check out.
