It is 2:37 PM Thursday afternoon here in south western Michigan. It is 79 degrees and mostly cloudy today. I less it is raining fire down us this afternoon. Right now Northern California is on fire and people are having fire rain down their homes-everything going up in smoke

What passages of the Bible bring me most comfort when I am feeling low/depressed or anxious? Interesting question since I do not have just one or two Bible verses that comfort me or sustains me spiritually in this insane world. I think what sustains me or keeps me from utter despair is the Character of God/ a revelation of God's love, mercy, and grace revealed in the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. If the Lord died for me/a sinner and brought me to Himself in saving faith/united to Him/mystical union then Now I live by depending on the Lord for strength-energy-faith to keep going from one day to the next. "I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me" Gal 2:20. As a Christian I live because Christ lives/rose from the dead and is my Great High Priest/interceding for me-I am experiencing the life of God now because as a Christian I am indwelt by God the Holy Spirit-the Spirit of God

Thankyou Johnny for your kind reply. It means a lot. Being kept from utter despair through the character of God. This is something i can rest / reflect on. Matthew 11 verses 28 to 30 is the passage i am repeating to myself most a present. I just despise that I'm so utterly hopeless as a person. To make a difference to someone's life, really help them would be something worthwhile.
