Yesterday I went to the Motor City Comic Con with my sis and her new ~male friend~ oooooohhhhh. Was gonna get an autograph from Betsy Russell but I forgot my DVD case and I didn't want to pay $30 for a signed picture of her busting out of a tanktop (SORRY, TOTALLY WOULD HAVE BEEN WORTH IT FOR COSTAS, THO, NOM NOM NOM). So instead I bought two ( Read more... )

Oh, I agree with you SO HARD on Thor. During the father moment, I was sitting there rifftraxing it in my head going, "I, Thor, have no idea about Loki's parentage, and for the purposes of meaningful fatherly bonding moments, I will promise never to acknowledge them."

I found it all too easy to sympathise with, and totally adore Loki.

Also, I liked that the Jane/Thor thing wasn't overplayed and that Jane's role really wasn't about her (and same with Sif) being the "female eyecandy" or the love interest in the film. The romance seemed kind of silly and tacked on, IMHO, but I could see how it fitted in, and it didn't bog the movie down. (Personally I saw more sexual chemistry between Thor and Loki, personally, especially when Loki gets all affected when he makes a comment to Thor about Jane.)

I wasn't really about the mancandy except for his actor: holy god FUCK, Tom what's-his-name is stunning. And I don't feel wrong and pervy thinking that, either, because he's like, a week younger than me.

My oldest wants to see Green Hornet ( ... )

(Personally I saw more sexual chemistry between Thor and LokiOh hell yeah. They had history, chemistry, conflict... it's easy to see what one appreciates and despises in the other. Thor and Jane have none of that. For Jane, Thor is super fine and the key to her research, so she has plenty of reason to follow him around. But for Thor, we have no idea what he really sees in Jane. There's no mention of him finding her beautiful or smart, no mention of if he's used to his women being stronger or more feminine, no mention of if he's ever considered loving a human, if he would normally consider that beneath him, if it would have consequences for him socially etc. For most of it he just seems kind of amused by her, like "Wow, this mortal woman is suitably awed with me!" There's fondness but no PASSION ( ... )

I just got back from seeing Thor and I kinda...thought it was a bad movie? Not sad I saw it, I liked the fights but...the events of the movie made so little sense. Thor was pretty though, and Loki was awesome. Can I just wave a Loki flag and forget the rest? I felt really bad for him. :/

Yeah, plotwise, the movie was in every direction. But there was just so much pretty I couldn't hate it, ya know!? And ugh I think everything felt for Loki, the actor did a great job of making him sympathetic (almost toosympathetic!?).

While you wave your flag I'll wave This. Turns out having a Tumblr is pretty awesome after all.

*nodnod* Exactly. I could look at it and go, "This is kinda meh" but couldn't hate it~
Yes, he really did. (Can I just like, have a movie about Loki next? No? Damn.)
