NGHHH...CAPCOM...!!!

Fuck. Saw the new GK2 updates and all I can say is fuck, I'm so....ugh. I can't stand it. Do Not Want, in caps. I'm sure everyone's excited but I can't even look, because it's just such a bad sign for the franchise, I mean seriously. If I talk to anyone who's excited about it now I'm gonna lose my nachos. I'm just so irritated I'm mostly ( Read more... )

In case 3 you play as Gregory Edgeworth against von Karma, in a flashback.

It pisses me off because they're treating Edgeworth more and more like a defense attorney, which means it's possible they're just going to phase out GS in favor of the new system. Which they might as well do because it's mostly superior...but then that does not bode well for Apollo and the future of the franchise.

Mmm I dont know if the Edgeworth thing necessarily means that but I guess.... Man I dunno. I hope they don't really drop Apollo. :/

Oh dear, I'm not even looking! All I've seen is whatever goes past on the Famitsu twitter feed XD

I'm really not excited, especially after AAI. All the games I thought would be good last year were soulless, badly written, unplayable pieces of tripe and all of the stuff on my "play later" list ended up being awesome. What gives?!

I know, seriously!! 2010 low on the hits. Even Ghost Trick was a huge disappointment.

I don't blame you for being grumpy! It sucks watching a series you really love develop in a way that makes you shake your head. I was kind of excited at first but the recent spoilers make me siiigh too.

I still think it'll be fun, and I do look forward to some backstory on Gregory, but it overall kind of feels... like a side quest. You know, that you kinda feel obligated to do because it's part of the overall game, and sometimes they turn out to be fun, but it really does nothing to move the plot forward. I remember with the original trilogy, with each new game I was all "What'll happen next!?". I feel like it's left that and gone into "Oh gee, if they're in jail I hope Jacques gets a background sprite", lol. I'm so disappointed that I'm not more excited!! It also feels like Edgey is being cheapened character-wise.

I do hope they retouch on Apollo, because then at least the games would be going somewhere productive! But maybe we care more than Capcom does. ;T

Yes, you're so right--it's like side filler. Which is fun in some ways, too, I really enjoyed playing AAI the first time, it's just that...you're hungry again 20 minutes later, lol. It's hard to care too much when you know it's not going to affect the canon universe at large.

APOLLOOOOOOO COME BAAAAAAAAACK

Just from what I heard I can see why you're annoyed, croiky. Especially about the whole Edgeworth maybe/maybe not defense attorney thing. I know it's what he originally wanted to do but I really hope he doesn't become one and drop prosecuting. That'd just feel like a huge slap in the face to all the development he's already had. (And I never understood all the fuss about Gregory Edgeworth either, am I the only one?)

And though I like Edgeworth, I don't want him to take Phoenix's place as main character or anything. He's...just so boring. Admirable and likeable but boring. Admittedly I'm not a huge fan of Apollo Justice but if they made an AJ2 and fixed what the hell they did to Phoenix (or at least gave the spotlight back to Apollo where it should be, and not on both of them), I'd give it a shot.

As for return characters, I think it should be limited. And I really don't want any more convoluted backstory nonsense either like what they did with Dahlia and Iris and Maya's family in T&T.

I like Edgeworth a lot, but you're right, he's much better in a supporting role. Now that he's found his path in life there's no reason to dwell on his characterization, especially when they're not bold enough to do anything really dramatic with him. He's just so...unflappable now. Maybe the daddy flashback will really stir him up, but I dunno.

And I wish they'd tone down the recurring characters, especially once that are just there for a laugh, or a groan, as the case may be. Spend more time on the new characters!

Yeah, or at least cameo characters from AAI-1. If Lang or Lauren popped up that'd be okay with me, I wouldn't mind seeing them again. I heard Regina's showing up, but unless Max is with her, I really don't care unless she's ventured outside her innocence bubble. I can't think of a single friend I have who played JFA and liked her. And Frank Sahwit, does anybody remember that guy?

No it's fine XD;; It's just so appropriate to the post.

It may be time to revive Project: Do Apollo Justice.
