When it comes to choosing banks, I (and most students I know) chose the one that gave out the most free stuff at orientation when we started Uni, which changes every year as the banks try to one-up each other for those apparently lucrative totally empty student bank accounts.

It's the credit business that the banks seem to really want from the students, isn't it?

Absolutely. Bad credit habits need to be inculcated in the young, before they learn the value of money. Like any addictive product.
