I saw the trailer for SKYLINE when I went to see RED on friday (On which front by the way, Warren Ellis words in Bruce Willis' mouth = holy shit man. That movie is amazing.)

I have to go see it when it comes out.. It looks like it has a chance to be an amazing bad movie along the lines of Independence Day. I just hope it ends with rocks fall everyone dies.. aliens win. I would be laughing too hard to leave my seat!

I thoroughly enjoyed RED. It was related to the comic in only the remotest sense, but... that's not a bad thing, really. It was laugh out loud funny in many, many places.

On the other hand, there's the whole "We're happy to look into the whole Rapture thing, but we'll do it in our own time and in our own way, kthx."

Humanity tends to not like having anything forced on it, good or bad. If it had just instead been dangled tantalisingly, millions (even billions) might well have gone willingly.

Dangled tantalizingly? How about fruit-shaped and outright forbidden?

Shit, did we just start a war with God? Ah, fuck it, we're too heavily invested now to be bothered with the truth. It's not like anyone wants to worship this asshole anyway.

I ask you, General, when was the last time that saving the immortal soul of humanity increased shareholder value?
