Some of you probably haven't gone and voted yet because you can't be bothered and you don't think it will change anything and you think that this whole experiment in democracy is a panacea to deceive the masses from enacting violent revolution. Perhaps you're right ( Read more... )

Yeah, I totally had the desired effect when reading this, which was wait, what? - oh. OH. right. Alas, I voted three days ago, so the impact is wasted on me, but I wanted to share that from a literary perspective.

Our Turkish & German project managers both came over to gush with us this morning. Its quite a fun time to be here at the International Study Center of an otherwise conservative campus. :)

out of curiosity, with paper ballots, couldn't you leave the particular slot blank? I figured that it probably won't be counted "officially" unless there's a "I am consciously choosing to abstain from this election because I do not believe that any of these candidates is a valid representation of my interests", but isn't abstaining technically an option in the paper system? or does having one empty slot invalidate the entire ballot.
