first of all congrats on the new apartment! Where will you be living now - any nearer to us?
second, the story about that mix tape and the song list really resonated with me. A summer camp friend when I was 13 made me my first two mix tapes that really introduced me to non-Top 40 music. Some of the songs and many of the groups are the same as on yours. I actually no longer have one of the tapes (a van in college ate it), but I still keep the case and song list and one of these days I'll actually get around to getting all those songs on MP3 or something and re-create the mix. If I weren't in China, I'd post the track list ...
i have a few mixes like that. kind of makes me miss the days when it made sense to put things like the pixies, f242 and the pet shop boys on one tape :). mine have things like siouxsie, depeche mode, tori amos, the levellers, the psych furs all together.
