I first met Freeside as a sophomore in high school. He lived down the hall -- new kid, quiet, smart -- though, in this school saying someone was smart was like saying they were male. It was one of those things that was taken for granted, though, of course, being smart didn't mean that you were a nerd or a geek, at least not in the classic sense ( Read more... )

We went in and started going down the aisles with me asking, "you haven't got any PJ Harvey have you? Here take this ... and this. You'll probably like Interpol, too. What? you haven't heard of Sigur Ros?"

Further proof that High Fidelity was really a documentary about me & my friends...
