I have a question. What are the expectations of a meta-writer? Is a meta-writer expected to write about the relevant disability tropes being used? The disability being portrayed? The characters? The fandom? What would happen if I signed up as a meta writer, but shared no one else's fandom?

Meta-writers can choose to write about any facet of their assigned fic. Because this is a multi-fandom big bang, it's likely that a few stories will be claimed by artists unfamiliar with the source material. If you sign-up as meta writer and there isn't a fic up for claims that you feel comfortable writing about, you can drop out as a meta writer and try your luck again next year.

Question... I can't participate this round, but I would love to participate in the next round should you decide to do this again. But I'm just curious if this would count. I'm writing a fic where the main character's daughter has a permanent disability throughout the entire fic. The main character's daughter is a character that I made up. She's not actually part of the canon fandom. Would that count for a challenge like this? (Again, I'm not participating in this challenge, but I was curious.) Or do the characters' disabilities have to come from within the canon of the show only?

That story wouldn't count for this challenge, because the disabled character doesn't exist in the show's canon. For people writing fanfic, only canon characters with canon disabilities qualify for this challenge.
