I keep forgetting to mention--I'm going to be in Seattle April 9 through 12. Are there any Seattle fen out there who would like to meet up for lunch or dinner? And possibly a pilgrimage to local Targets or Toys R Uses for Super Hero Squad? There are four within a ten minute drive, if one has a car! *g* This has happened before, I think. I wonder if Norwescon will suffer for the competition...

I don't suppose you'll have a car and the willingness to drive me around for half an hour? I do have Plan B if I need it, but it would suck a bit if I paid for the cab and didn't find any good figures.

ETA: It occurs to me that you'll be cosplaying, which likely isn't conducive to driving...

Who knows? the audiences do have some overlap, but I think still somewhat different?

And so.. I'll be cosplaying Cable's mom for Scon (yeah, very appropriate for an anime con, I know, haha), so not exactly conductive to going around Seattle. Besides I won't have my car with me, a bunch of us are driving down together and we're using someone else's car this year.

That reminds me! Are you planning to do Bascon this year? I am, despite having moved, still right on I-5 if you're driving down and I'm pondering making that con my trip for this year.

Sadly, BASCon isn't really happening this year. :-( Two or three professional conferences are happening in the city at the same time (optomotrists and opthamologists, I think...and I spelled those all wrong!) and they drove up the hotel rates so much that the BASCon Con Comm couldn't book a hotel for anything approaching a rate reasonable for the con goers. So this year they're taking a year off and maybe having a sleepover or something at one of the Con Comm's houses, and BASCon will be back in 2010. :-(

Um, I only know of you from fandom/afar, but I live in Seattle, and if your Plan B doesn't work out, I am likely to be free. I also have a car...

Uh, another "I know of you from fandom" (uh, a whole bunch actually, but primarily cap_ironman) person in Seattle. I have no car, but would be thrilled to hang out with another fen-type. ^_^
