Such a simple flower, so striking. A bright face that speaks fluently of late springtime warmth, but has the wherewithal to stand up to many climes. this is fabulous. i love how the feel of this entry changes from peaceful to harsh as it progresses from how pretty and widely-traveled the poppy is to all the damage it can do to people who become addicted. the language is really lovely all the way through.

You have a way with words that almost, almost border on too lyrical for me (I like my prose rather plain), but nevertheless it manages to suck me in and keep me reading. I loved the feel of this -- you did very well contrasting the beauty of the poppies with the less beautiful abuses of the poppy. :)
