Cease and Desist

Dec 28, 2006 21:57

This season does not seem to cease in its happy rejoicing. I first believed that after such a happy season, a low time would arrive, and for many it has. But instead, many seem to be celebrating for another reason. New years. Why one would celebrate the start of another year is beyond me. It is simply another year which I have survived and have not ( Read more... )

Makes one wonder where you'll eventually end up then.

I've heard whispers, but nothing more. People talk about monsters under the bed as well, but I stopped believing in those long ago.

I would not consider us the monsters beneath the bed. Instead there are those who are simply creatures of darkness and others of light, who appear human yet are not so.

Seems you have much to learn about the true nature of Sanzensekai, Rufus Shinra.

You talk of darkness and light, and yet I don't seem to be the only one dismissing these. Accessing the pages of this device yields such things as talk of parties, stuffed animals, people traveling, others getting drunk, birthday celebrations, shopping, and all manners of inanity. You seem to be the sole voice shouting at the storm and being drowned out by its thunder. Surely you don't expect me to take you seriously.

You describe solely the superficial nature of Sanzensekai, the side which all can see. Believe what you will; there is much more to this world than meets the human eye, and only those who know how to see it, will.

And how does one learn how to 'see' this other world?

One must become what one is not, either by choice or by fate.

[[ ooc: omgz. messing with rufus's mind is so easy and quite amusing X3 ]]

And what is it that they 'become'?

((OOC: Rufus is rather clueless on much of the outside world. Unless it involves Shin-Ra, his own social circle, or the Turks, he has no real interest in it anyways.))

Light chooses its servants. They are bound by fate to such a role of light and cheer.

The darkness, however, is chosen by its followers who desire something. Those offer a part of themselves to the darkness and in return, recieve what they truly desire.

There seem to be quite a few of those wandering about.

Is that so? There's very little I desire that I cannot purchase myself. I doubt either side has anything that they could offer me.

Magic, power, freedom from emotions, eternal life; There are some desires which cannot be purchased.

[[ooc: is it working yet? =3]]

Magic? I have no use for that. I have my Turks. Power? I am President of the planet's largest and most powerful company already. Freedom from emotions? Do I strike you wrongly as a person who caters to weaknesses like that? As for eternal life, what would I do with that? Sit on the board forever as an old man? I think not.

((OOC: When going fishing, it's best to have the right bait. Does that help? *grins*))

Eternal life does not include agin. Truthfully, such completely ignores the aging process.

Certainly there must be something which you have not either obtained or purchased yet desire from the root of your being.

[[ooc: i'll find it eventually! =O]]

Then I suppose I should state it better in that I have no desire to remain this age forever. I see nothing particularly attractive about it. Vanity is not one of my sins.

Indeed there is, but I would never tell an absolute stranger what it might be. I make it a habit of mine never to expose my weaknesses.

Weaknesses are simply a creation of humankind. In offering part of yourself to the darkness, you can eliminate such a weakness.

Well now, isn't that contradictory? You say that whatever I desire the most will be given to me and yet in getting that, I would eliminate such weakness. Which is it?
