Yesterday I saw Cruel Intentions for like the thousand time, I love that movie so much *-*, so I decided to make an icon tutorial with a cap from the movie. We´re going...

From
to

1. Get yourself a cap, mine is by crumblingwalls:

---> C A P

2. Crop it at your liking, but be original!

3. Duplicate the layer once and set it to screen

4. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves, here you have to think how do you want the icon to be, I wanted a yellow/redish icon, (it all depends on your taste, so take this as an example) so I put this numbers:

RGB: input:112, output:128
Red: I did something like this:

Green: i:149, o:146
Blue:

You'll get something like this:

5. Add a new layer, fill with #00212c, set to Exclusion and low the opacity a bit, I used 40%.

6. Looks a bit weird, huh? so let's duplicate the base (set yourself in the bottom layer and press Ctrl + J) and move it to the top, desature it (Ctrl + U and set Saturation to -100), and set the layer to Soft Light, Opacity to 46% or so...

7. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Levels and put the last of the input settings to 245 instead of 255:

And you'll get:

8. You can follow this step or not, I made a new layer and with a soft round and little brush I painted with #000000 over the parts or her eyes and her hair that looked a bit yellow, I set the layer to soft light and lowered the opacity to 36% and got this:

9. Finally, I made a new layer and with a brush from Touchstone's Art I painted a part from the top.

That's it! Any doubts you can ask me ^^. By the way if you want me to translate to spanish just say it ^^.
