So why does the elite BAU team interact with the director and not Erin and why wouldn't the original BAU team not interact with the director???

Erin is a type of director too.

But my first though was "It figures it's a man". Watching CM this season is going to very very very hard.

I thought she was a deputy director. They're making it sound like Richard Schiff's character is going to be THE FBI director. So I'm just wondering what makes this elite BAU team so special that they get to interact with the top guy.

Because Forest Whitaker has a Oscar, a BAFTA, a Golden Globe, a SAG, and an Emmy.

All the Original Recipe kids have are a few Golden Globes...

Wow, Toby's come a long way after being fired from the Bartlett administration. I guess getting the presidential pardon really worked out for him. :D

You know what this spinoff reminds me of? Like if you're on FF.net reading one of the like, 3 good fanfics on there and you're hecka into it and suddenly the author stops updating and you find out they've started some sparkly!Mary Sue fic they're totally gung-ho over and you're like, "idgaf about your new fic, update the old one!" but the author's gotten bored with it/sick of readers bitching at her to update so she eventually hands it off to her 12-y/o sister and you're like FFFFUUUUUUU I'm never reading a WiP again

... This metaphor derailed somewhat along the way (not to mention holy run-on sentence), but you know what I mean

It's more like one of those good fics that turn bad somewhere in the middle and you can't understand what happened.

Wasn't the FBI director supposed to be a woman...?

I should have known this would happen...

The director in the 'pilot' was played by Mary Steenburgen...but we never saw her on screen. Sounds like they've been 'retooling' the heck out of the thing since then.

I'm not entirely sure they know what to do in the first place, given that the 'pilot' was pretty lame and had several gaping plot holes.

Elle + Morgan =vaca ? Probably not in a million years!
