Dude maybe the cat hates you because you treat him like he's a dog? There are exceptions but in general cats don't like being picked up, because they'll go where they want gtfo. Cats are extremely proud and they'll get grouchy if you mess with them, you're just supposed to like rub them and worship them and do whatever they tell you to XP Playing with a cat is more like finding something for them to chase, or rubbing their belly if they're lounging around.
