January

I posted 0 icons in January, but I did post one large texture set which can be found here.

February

53 icons in one post. In February I made a lot of silly, jerky, non-serious GIF icons of terrible quality and a very select few I really liked even though I was definitely enjoying the icon making process and learning!

March

70 icons in one post. I like this set, though at the time I was using a lot of the same effects/coloring on these icons and still learning the ropes (technically I still am, but that's besides the point :)

April

138 icons spread across these three posts. This was when I really started to experiment and dig the stuff I was coming up with. I learned about Gradient Maps and Vibrance and started to work on my composition.

May

icons in one post for my very first submission into any challenge community in inspired20in20. I was really proud of this set, and still am because I think it's the one set where I can tell I really pushed myself and loved the result, even if I was still making mistakes. I was obsessed with dark purple/violet Lighten layers here, especially paired with yellow then.

June

Another 20 icons for inspired20in20. This was the time I started experimenting with shadows and grungey textures and was still obsessed with purple Lighten layers! I really loved this set and still do.

July

This was right after theiconquest opened and I was enthralled and cranking out more icons than I ever had because it was so much fun! I posted three different sets this month and theiconquest really inspired me to experiment even more than I already was and it was a blast.

August

Two more sets for theiconquest, totaling 51 icons in August. One of them was fully inspired by the insanely talented sarisafari! I was experimenting with gradient maps, composition and making simple yet really vibrant icons.

September

One post with 14 icons for the7days. I was, and still am, really proud of that Katniss icon and was very inspired by both of these challenges. Text is my weakness and I still need to work on it but I

October

21 icons in one post. Not entirely thrilled with this post but I was working on shadows and cut-outs and did an okay job, I think.

November

One post with 50 icons total -- some for thevampdiaelite, the7days and sortedchallenge. I was (and still very much am) working on growing into my "style", whatever that may be, so a lot of experimentation was and still is taking place. I made some really soft, glowy and vibrant Breaking Bad icons, played around with blocking and text and blending and tried to push myself yet still made some semi-decent simple icons too.

December

My most recent (as in, uh.. 5 minutes ago) icon post. I was the lovely and talented wildpages' Secret Santa at tasteislife, made quite a few icons for her and I hope she enjoys them! I am still working on my text, working on not oversharpening and/or oversaturating, trying to experiment with new crops and fandoms. I'm not where I want to be just yet but I'm still having fun and that's all that matters.

Goodbye, 2012! Though I've been dabbling in graphic design for around 7 years now, 2012 was the year I started taking it more seriously and I'll always remember that. I hope 2013 treats me and all of you well!

Also thank you, rocketgirl2, for this gorgeous icon progression post template! :)
