"The only way we're gonna get through this is if we work together"? Doesn't that only apply to those too weak to stand on their own? And I bet you anything there will be at least one leech who will feed off of the efforts of the group without contributing anything themselves. Do you really plan on sharing your resources with them?
Listen. I grew up in a mercenary company. Everyone had a job. It didn't matter if you were a fighter, a healer, a cook, or just an extra pair of hands -- every job was important. Just because a person can't do one thing doesn't mean that they'll be helpless. No one is good enough to thrive on his own.
And like I said, I'm getting everyone involved. If someone is caught slacking off, the people around him will get him moving.
I'll help you with fishing, Ike-san. I can collect firewood, too. I'm sure many other people will lend us a hand.
... I'm more concerned about the shelter, though. Tear-san suggested constructing huts, which may be a good solution, but will certainly require the citizens' assistance.
