Oh it's the 2nd episode I was referring to. I really liked the 1st ep. The 2nd though failed to wow me in those first 20 minutes. I literally was falling asleep though so I went to bed at that point. But I'm not sure I want to watch the rest now. (If I hadn't gotten sleepy last night, I would have.)
You didn't like it? I can't remember how the first 20 mins went but I really enjoyed the pilot and also last night's ep, so I would recommend keeping going with it for just a little while longer. :) I'm super in love with all of AMC's shows at the moment...
Yeah the pilot I liked. I posted about it. But the 2nd ep is the one I was unimpressed with after 20 mins. I had to go to be though because I was so tired. I am contemplating whether or not to watch the 2nd ep. I should though because apparently my mom watched it today on the DVR and loved it enough to talk to me about it afterward, lol.
Oh sorry, must have glossed over the "1.02" part in your post. :) I did like ep 2, but to be fair there are definitely people who didn't. AV Club only gave the episode a B- after giving the pilot an A-, and I think a lot of the reason was due to the one-dimensional portrayal of the redneck character. I personally kinda enjoy one-dimensional portrayals, but that's just me. ;) All that aside, I'm still quite excited about the show and I'm sure it's just finding its feet if it does occasionally stumble this early on. :)
I added it in! Because both people who responded seemed to think I meant the pilot, lol. It wasn't you -- it was me!
Yeah the redneck guy really turned me off. And it wasn't necessarily his asshattery but in the way that they did it. It didn't really ring true to me -- which may have something to do with what you said about one-dimensional portrayals. But of the whole scene, and not just the character.
I found the episode mostly boring, similar to what I thought of the first one. I don't know. Wasn't too impressed. I'm going to give it another shot with the 3rd, but honestly I'm not sure how much longer I'll be watching it.
