Oh wow- this *hurts*. Not that I'm going to stop reading or anything :)

I'm sort of thinking that the voice he heard was Jack from a future point after Lisa's final death. But that might just be me- and also? How? *boggles*

I've heard rumors that we might get a next part by Easter. Let me know if you need a beta (or gamma) reader- I'm sort of selfishly wanting to see the next installment ASAP, especially if it inlcudes more about Ianto's earlier life. This is fantastic, even if I feel a bit twisted for saying so.

grin.

you know, I wasn't entirely sure I'd pulled off Jack's voice in there.

can I ask how long it took you to guess? And what gave it away? (this voice will be making a couple more appearances, you see).

The "how" will be explained, but quite a way down the line. The Jack he can hear is not a happy chap and from his point of view it's only going to get worse.

Glad you like it. I wans't going for an cheerful, happy chapter I must admit. Wasn't originally going to be so nasty, either but there you go.

By Easter - umm, possibly a little after, although you never know. I think I've cracked writing suzie, so hopefully I can now get down to it (as much as I can with three kids). Thanks for the offer of help - getting a few of those now. People seem quite keen on finding out what happens next.

Can I ask how you found me? And thanks again for the comments - nice to know I'm writing for more than me and the betas!

I followed you over from tanarian's journal, actually. You left an intereting comment about Ianto's backstory in one of her fics, and I wondered if you'd written fic yourself. And you had! And it was goodfic! I was very excited, especially when I saw how long it was.

...and because I fail at answering all the questions:

I started getting suspicious when it seemed like the voice was talking to someone else in between his mental dialog with Ianto. His speech patterns were also very Jack rather than Ianto, and when he started ordering him to move, I got it.

Hmm... does that mean Jack's travelling back along Ianto's lifetime into his childhood or forwards into his drifter years and Torchwood? Because I can't really see him being too chuffed with either prospect.
