So here I am, sitting here pondering about how I can get more people to go over to the Lap Band contest and vote for me. Voting ends Thursday and I'm getting kind of nervous so I really want to drum up some votes over there

I too have emailed my friends to make them vote on every single device with a different IP, but my social circle is not what is was. I'll try to get in a couple more votes myself before Thursday ends.
If it helps, I'm exactly the same. My funniest writings were done when I was stuck working at the vets - over worked, underpaid, and frequently having to go take breaks in the toilet so I could have a quick cry when we had to do things like euthanise puppies.
Now I'm at a reasonable job, with decent pay, hours I can do without dying, and if I dno't solve something? Nothing dies.
Hey presto, wave goodbye to the funny.
I reckon it's simply that my system reacts to stress by making things funny - it's a long lived defense mechanism that's allowed me to keep my sanity by seeing the black humour in everything. Remove the stress, and the coping mechanism goes as well.
And if it helps? Yuo're still funny. :) My attempts at jokes nowadays result in tumbleweeds and people making excuses about how they're needed over...there....
Hey, I asked everyone I could think of! I asked my friends! I asked the mastiff owners! I asked the Lap-band support group! I asked my coworkers! I asked my kids! I even asked my BROTHER and I haven't spoken to him in a year.
