"Birthday Spooky" for Illwynd

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to illwynd!

Below is something that I had originally hoped to do during "Six Days of Spooky," but I didn't manage to find time and inspiration during the challenge itself. However, knowing your taste for scary things, I didn't think you'd mind getting it for a birthday present! It's inspired by this quote:

spooky, drabbles, double drabbles, gondor

Ooh, that is creepy indeed! *shivers* Poor guy... And I think this is a very likely scenario for how all that might have happened. Good stuff!

I'm glad you did find time to write this! It's fantastic. ^__^ *hugs you and hands over cake*

Oh wow...it's really, really creepy. You managed to scare me too...

"There was no time to run, so he would fight, even without hope." -- you know, this pretty much sums up the Gondorian "attitude" in the Third Age *sniff* Poor guy...

Really good job there :)

Thanks, Astara! As I said below to lilan14, I was determined not to make the guy a wimp. (I couldn't bear to give him a name, because I knew I was going to kill him!)

Thanks, and I'm glad you liked it! I was quite determined not to have my guy be a coward or a wimp, even if he couldn't hit Shelob with a sword.

Oh, this is great! I have a very weird fondness for the M-E spiders, and I love seeing someone stumble across Shelob like this! The poor man had no idea what lurked out there in the darkness, did he?

Thanks for the review, and I'm glad you liked the piece! Middle-Earth really is an arachnophile's dream, isn't it? *chuckles* I've gotta say, I did feel sorry for the poor guy while I was writing.
