Illegal substabces.

To most of you who actually read this journal, this probably seems out of nowhere. I'd like to, as clearly as possible, define my view on substance abuse/use, because I'm lead to believe that a few of you care ( Read more... )

"My personal view on drugs are unique, as are everyone elses." Not really, anyone who has a friend who does drugs and is against them gains pretty much the same view I'd assume after being exposed to it more. I think it's disrespectful to yourself and everyone around you to use them, and also kind of as "cheating" in life in a way. My unorganized quick reply~

In case you don't know who's journal this is, it's Brandon.

Views on substance abuse/use.

I simply cannot argue with anything in that post aside from your personal views as opposed to facts stated.

As for your personal views and your hatred of drugs, I honestly cannot say I agree. It's quite obvious that I don't hate drugs "aside from the long list of drugs I would never touch which includes everything but weed and shrooms" even if I stopped smoking, I wouldn't feel that I would have the right to dislike them because I have done them.

I do not have any reasoning for my drug use Jeremy. I view it as a very small part of a very big thing. Just as I view myself, and most individual humans for that matter.

Just know... regardless of the amount of time I've known you, or even the lack of interaction between us, I consider you one of my good friends, I know you do have a lack of respect for me because of smoking, I just hope you see past it.

1. To compare cigarettes, weed, sheesha, alcohol *is* justifiable, to a certain extent, in that they are all substances which, when abused, can cause harm to the body. In this sense, however, a car could be compared to weed; both take lives when misused. So, when arguing the validity of a substance, this is ok.
I also think it is justifiable to a certain extent. What annoys me is when someone says something along the lines of “Anyhows, It really makes no sense to condemn one form of smoking but embrace another, that's called hypocrisy.” You can condemn marijuana usage because it is illegal. “it doesn't really matter WHAT you smoke, the same chain of events is taking place in your lungs, all you're doing is burning a different plant! Marijuana, Tobacco, Sheesha, they're all the same.” They’re the same, except for the part of the brain they’re effecting.

2. I'd like to put this in here to make point 1 unnecessary. There is no reason, on this earth, to be comparing any two substances so as to validate one or the other. Not only ( ... )

5. Here's why I act the way I do with my friends who use any of these substances. Every single one of you, at one time or another, has expressed a desire to stop the use of drugs. It is this point which causes me to lose any sort of respect for a drug user. I'm not going to condemn for any sort of hipocracy, because as I mentioned earlier, I fully understand how responsible the object is, as well as the user. I begin to lose respect because of the lack of self control. Again, what makes us human is to make choices. And again, the human mind is the most powerful on the planet. You can make the decision to stop and do just that. The excuses are easily rebuttled: .
I myself worry more about the people who haven’t shown an interest in quitting drugs. They either have no clue what dangers are present with the drug (and this also depends on the drug itself; obviously, some are much more dangerous than others), or realize the dangers, but have little interest in their bodily health.

a.) It's the only thing we have to do. That's because ( ... )

Replying to your last one of how you act while drunk...
Even when you are not drunk, you still don';t abide by the ways to act that society has set forth, you do whatever you feel like doing, and act however you want, whether you offend people of not. It seems to be a bigger joy to you when you do offend people though. I dunno if you (I'm assuming you do) actually think about your actions before you do them, but you still don't follow society's norms in most of your actions... so what really is the difference for you of being drunk or sober in your actions? Just so you have an excuse to act that way? I'm just curious.

I do not do whatever I feel like doing. Being offensive to get a reaction every once in a while is not doing whatever I feel like doing whenever I want. Contrary to your belief, most of my actions DO follow society's norms. Of course, there are several times a week where I do something to get a rise out of people that most others wouldn't do. When I do act this way when I'm sober, I've thought about it as well before doing it. The couple times that I've been completely hammered, I spoke whatever was on my mind without giving a single thought to whether or not someone would be upset or offended by what I said ( ... )

I wasn't making my post as an attack to you, so hopefully you didn't view it as that way. I was just saying that when we go places, you often act that way. Not always, but sometimes. I'm not assuming you do it all the time, but more when you are around friends, that you seem to get enjoyment out of annoying people. Do you get what I'm saying?

I'm gonna guess the main reason Jeremy posted this at this particular time is because he was blown off for drugs from someone he hadn't seen in a while. So by saying you don't have a problem with weed, that's alright. But I think where Jeremy is coming from in this post, (obviously he has a problem with it) but when a "friend" chooses weed over him, that's where he gets really pissed, which is very understandable. Cause they can't spare just a few hours of not smoking to hang out with him. But if I have made this guess wrongly, then oh well. I personally, don't care for drugs or smoking of any kind, as you know also. Smoking is my bane, my whole family basically does it, and I think it's gross. It pollutes the air, makes things smell, destroys lungs, and is killing my family. I don't mind if someone smokes, (for the most part) just not around me. And if someone wants to smoke weed every now and then, that's alright (although still irritating) As long as I don't have to see it, smell it, hear about it, etc. and it's a fairly ( ... )

I guess I forgot to post that too. I think it is rude to choose an object over a person when you haven't seen the person in a while, and use the object frequently.

Of course there's much more to every situation, and I know nothing about the situation other than what I just read, so that's all I'm going to say about that.

Yeah, well I was just making my assumption based on what I read from his post.
